Hello! My name is Sarah Parsons and I am a graphic designer and photographer. I graduated from Mount Vernon Nazarene University with a degree in graphic design and a minor in marketing. I am 28 years old and grew up in Sylvania, Ohio. I seek adventure and love to create beautiful things. Whether that's designing a logo for your small business or capturing your unique story through my lens.
As a designer, my goal is to effectively communicate through creative design. I strive to be unique and create designs that are different. I have always had the desire to be playful and this is reflected through each and every piece that I create. My work is inspired by nature and urban settings and I am interested in knowing how these two contrasting elements can work together in a design.
My portfolio is characterized by simple, bold designs that focus on the use of shapes and colors to create a strong illustrative composition. I am drawn to clean, simple, and unique typefaces. Thick strokes, and use of space are also present in my designs. My designs are usually comprised of more than one color working harmoniously together.
Open mindedness is essential to my process. Brainstorming all potential creative responses allow for me to ensure the best design. It usually begins by identifying the problem and then gathering as much research as possible to obtain inspiration. I spend a lot of time looking at other work, studying it, and getting new ideas from outside sources and the world around me.
My design philosophy is one that values honesty and authenticity. I intend to focus on being a designer with responsibility by staying aware of the problems around me. I want to be intentional about creating designs that can both be good and do good. I believe responsible design is one that can help educate and guide people into making the ethical choice.
